There appears to be more to the story behind Toni Storm's exit from WWE.

As noted earlier, Storm is no longer with the company after she requested her release. Storm was on the road with WWE for the post-holiday house show tour and she has been wrestling Triple Threat matches with SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks.

PWInsider is reported that Storm flew herself home this morning from Baltimore after last night's house show in Washington, DC. Last night's match reportedly went down as scheduled so it does not look like something that happened in the ring is what caused her to ask for her release.

The 26-year-old first appeared on WWE TV during the 2017 Mae Young Classic and was primarily used on the NXT UK brand until being called up to the main roster in July.

At first, it looked like she was going to be put in a SmackDown storyline with Dolph Ziggler but that story was dropped and she disappeared for months until her return several weeks ago for her feud with Flair.

Below are some photos posted from Storm's final match with the company.
