Tony Khan Reacts To Todd Grisham’s Instruction Claim From Vince McMahon About Christian’s WWE Return

Former WWE announcer Todd Grisham gave some insight into his call for Christian’s return to WWE in 2009.

Christian left WWE in 2005 and went to TNA Wrestling, where he became a main event after years of being with WWE. This helped show what he could do given a bigger opportunity higher on the card. Once Christian returned to WWE, he was a top star on ECW, winning its World Title and later becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

When Christian returned, Grisham wasn’t all that excited, which he claims was by design based on what Vince McMahon had told him. This was started by Jason Solomon, who is the host of the Solomonster Sounds Off podcast, after he pointed out the lackluster call. AEW President Tony Khan also chimed in, as seen below:

Grisham: “Right before I walked out of the Gorillia position before the show. Vince McMahon called me over and said ‘When Christian walks out..don’t get excited at all simply say ‘it’s Christian’ and that’s it. Understand me?’ Me: ‘Yes sir.’

Khan: “This is insane. Christian Cage is the man.”

In a response to a fan who noted that it seemed like McMahon wanted to sabotage Christan, Grisham noted it “seemed so” in his response.
