AEW CEO Tony Khan recently expressed his hope that when Chris Jericho decides to retire, his final match will take place with All Elite Wrestling. Speaking on Adam’s Apple, Khan addressed the question of Jericho’s eventual retirement, a topic that has generated significant discussion, particularly as Jericho’s contract is reportedly set to expire at the end of 2025.
“I would say that absolutely, I’d love it if Chris, his final match is eventually — whenever Chris someday would want to hang it up — were in AEW but I also don’t think Chris is really near that point,” Khan said.
Jericho, who is currently out of action, last wrestled for AEW in April, dropping the ROH World Championship to Bandido at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view event. Despite fans frequently urging him to retire, Jericho has repeatedly rejected those requests in recent years, stating that he has no intention of hanging up the boots anytime soon.
Jericho had signed a contract extension in 2022 that runs through December 2025. Many people believe that Jericho may be WWE-bound come 2026, including those in WWE.
