AEW CEO Tony Khan recently commented on Karrion Kross (referred to in the interview as Killer Kross) and Scarlett Bordeaux (Scarlett) after the pair were recently released from WWE. Khan acknowledged that he was surprised Kross was not retained by WWE and confirmed that the AEW doors are open to him.
Asked if he had any interest in Karrion Kross, Khan revealed that the two have not spoken in years, but he had a high opinion of his abilities. “I have not spoken to him in many, many years. That’s interesting. I’m not sure I like Killer Kross. It’d be interesting at some point to talk to him again. It’s been a long time since I’ve talked to Killer Kross, and it would be interesting.”
Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s contracts with WWE expired in August 2025, and the wrestler had revealed that his post-SummerSlam plans were supposed to be “big”. Khan noted the potential Kross and Scarlett possess as a unit. Khan also recalled being involved in setting up an independent match that Kross had with Darby Allin, which took place in New York. Allin had left an AEW Comic Con panel early to compete in the match, which Khan was originally planning to attend.
“Yeah, he’s great. I think he’s tremendous,” Khan stated. When asked ‘Are you surprised that WWE didn’t sign them?’ Khan said, “It’s interesting. You never know what’s going on with different wrestlers and different wrestling organizations. So I can’t speak to that. But I think he is very talented, and Darby said he had a great experience with him, so it would definitely be worth reconnecting. I mean, you know, we get so deep in our foxholes and thinking about the different things we’re doing, and sometimes I get so laser-focused on one thing, as you can see, that I think about those things, but at some point, he’s definitely a great name to think about.”
