Top AEW star suffers injury during Dynamite match

Cody Rhodes unfortunately didn’t come out of AEW Dynamite unscathed.

Cody teamed with Lee Johnson to beat Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi in a tag team match on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place

Arn Anderson, who is Rhodes’ coach, stated during the Coach’s Corner that Cody had “dinged his shoulder” while competing on the show. A statement was posted at the end of the video:

“Following the recording of Coach’s Corner, it was confirmed by the AEW medical team that Cody Rhodes suffered a slight tear of his left rotator cuff during his tag team match on Dynamite. His current status is TBD.”

This could impact AEW’s plans should it be serious enough to keep him out of action as the former TNT Champion is slated to team up with Red Velvet to take on Shaquille O’Neal and Jade Cargill in a tag team match on the March 7th edition of Dynamite.
