Top champion pulled from WWE live event due to injury

WWE Champion Kofi Kingston didn’t work the WWE live event on Monday in Glenn Falls, NY at the Cool Insuring Arena. Instead, he made an appearance and an interesting announcement.

Kingston is dealing with an undisclosed injury as he announced that would not wrestle on the show. Instead, he threw pancakes to the crowd and was at ringside when The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) defeated The B Team in a tag team match that served as the opening contest.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on the exact injury that Kingston is dealing with. Kingston did wrestle at WWE’s live event on July 6th in Utica.

Kingston is slated to appear on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live. He’s scheduled to make his next title defense against Samoa Joe at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event that takes place on Sunday, July 14th, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA at the Wells Fargo Center.
