Top person in WWE says Velveteen Dream will never be brought back

The door for Velveteen Dream (Patrick Clark) appears to have been shut completely after his recent legal issues.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the chances of him returning have “probably decreased greatly now.”

Meltzer added that one of the top people in the company told him outright that Clark would never be back. The exact quote from Meltzer: “Clark was the one person that one of the top people in the company told me outright would never be back, but his name surfaced this past week from those in the company.”

Clark was arrested on 8/20 on first-degree battery and trespassing charges after being given a warning. After posting a $1,200 bond and pleading not guilty, he was arrested again on 8/26 in Orange County (Orlando, FL) for an out-of-county warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest referenced is from November 2021, when he was charged with cocaine possession and destroying physical evidence. More details on that arrest can be found at this link.

Clark was one of the names that were featured a lot on NXT TV when Triple H was running things with the brand. The feeling on him at the time was that he would have become a big star on the main roster.
