This year’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view event is just days away and an interesting note regarding a top star has surfaced.
Before the build towards this event, Daniel Bryan had been featured in a feud with Drew Gulak against Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro and Sami Zayn.
In fact, Zayn successfully retained the WWE Intercontinental Title over Bryan at WrestleMania 36 last month.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that even though it appeared there was a long-term program planned between Zayn and Bryan, them facing each other for the Intercontinental Title wasn’t planned for Money in the Bank.
Instead, Meltzer wrote, “Bryan was always booked to be in MITB before Zayn made the call not to attend the recent tapings”
Bryan joins Baron Corbin, Otis, Aleister Black, Rey Mysterio, and AJ Styles as competitors in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match this Sunday. The bout along with the women’s match was taped last month at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT.
According to a new report, there is a big stunt planned for WWE Money In The Bank. For more on that, click here.
