Following Saturday’s WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House event, there was a lot of speculation on who might be moving up to the main roster.
The name that many thought would be moving was Velveteen Dream since he lost to NXT Champion Adam Cole and will no longer be able to challenge Cole for the title. There were rumors last year about Dream moving up to Raw or SmackDown but those plans were never put in motion.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Dream’s loss on Saturday does not mean that he is moving up to the main roster because there are currently no plans to move him up to Raw or SmackDown.
The next TakeOver event is scheduled for SummerSlam weekend and WWE typically has at least a couple of NXT stars debut on the Raw and SmackDown after SummerSlam so if Dream or anyone is moving up then it could happen around that tim.
UPDATE: Louis Dangoor at WrestleTalk first reported that Velveteen Dream would not be moving up to the main roster at this time.
