This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown will have the presence of NXT.
The show
The show will serve as the fallout from last Saturday’s Royal Rumble premium live event for the SmackDown brand that saw Roman Reigns retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Randy Orton, LA Knight, and AJ Styles in a fatal 4-way bout. The company has already confirmed WWE United States Champion Logan Paul will appear and Cody Rhodes will appear on the broadcast.
Rhodes is likely to confirm he will challenge Reigns for the title at WrestleMania after winning the Men’s Royal Rumble Match. Also, Bayley will choose her WrestleMania 40 opponent after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
The names
According to PWInsider, Trick Williams, former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, and former two-time NXT Champion Bron Breakker are set to work this Friday’s WWE SmackDown taping in Birmingham, Alabama.
Breakker has a storyline going with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, as he has been trying to sign him to the SmackDown roster. Bron said after the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, a bout he worked, that the main roster was his home.
Regarding Williams and Hayes, they were on last week’s show. Hayes has appeared in previous episodes, while Williams impressed officials with his first appearance to save Hayes from an attack.
Williams will challenge NXT Champion Ilja Dargunov for the title at NXT Vengeance Day on February 4. Williams and Hayes will also take on Baron Corbin and Breakker in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals at this same show.
It’s unclear whether they will be appearing on the broadcast or working dark matches.
