WWE officials meeting today to discuss SummerSlam plans and location

WWE is still looking to get the plans for this year’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event finalized.

The company has undergone various changes with this show from its original location and card.

The company had planned to hold SummerSlam at the TD Garden in Boston, but that couldn’t happen due to the coronavirus and not being able to have fans attend.

Since that announcement last week, there have been different reports about Vince McMahon wanting to find an outdoor location to have fans in attendance. There was a report about how there had been talk of holding it on a beach or a boat. There was also another report that the company was looking to hold it in the northeast of the United States with fans, but had found challenges in getting a state to allow it.

WrestleVotes reported that WWE officials will meet today to hopefully get plans including a location for this event finalized today.

“Source: those in power at WWE are meeting today to discuss and hopefully finalize SummerSlam plans, including location. As noted before, the desperation to land a location outside of the PC is coming from the top. It’s not as easy as they had hoped.”

As noted, WWE had a card in place for the show dating back a few months, but it had been torn up. So far, two matches have been announced for the show including WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton.
