The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz) lost to The Pinnacle (MJF, FTR, Wardlow, and Shawn Spears) when MJF threatened to throw Jericho off the structure in the Blood and Guts match on last week’s episode of Dynamite.
Dave Scherer of PWInsider recently stated WWE officials “hated” the inaugural match and one person stated the match “set the business back 30 years.”
Dave Meltzer wrote the following to a person who mentioned this report on the F4WOnline board:
“It is totally consistent with Vince. There absolutely were high ranking people who said that and at least one who thought the opposite.”
The match lived up to the advertisement of the match as it had plenty of blood, but the good news is no one was seriously injured although they all suffered some bumps and bruises.
AEW will follow up on this match this week on Dynamite. It's unclear as of now what the promotion has planned for the two factions at the upcoming Double or Nothing pay-per-view event later this month.
