Top WWE Raw Star Written Off TV

Sami Zayn has been written off WWE television after a brutal series of attacks on this week’s Monday Night Raw. The storyline development saw Zayn targeted by both Karrion Kross and Bron Breakker, culminating in a backstage announcement from Paul Heyman that the beloved superstar will be out of action “indefinitely.”

An Escalating Rivalry

The animosity between Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross has been building for weeks. The two faced off at the recent Night of Champions premium live event, where Zayn scored a hard-fought victory. However, on last week’s episode of Raw, a furious Kross made it clear the issue was not settled when he ambushed Zayn backstage and viciously attacked him with a metal pipe.

That assault set the stage for this week’s show. Zayn was scheduled to face Bron Breakker, but before the match could even begin, he was once again attacked by Karrion Kross in a violent assault in the aisleway that was broken up by officials.

Guts and Consequences

Despite the pre-match attack, a battered Sami Zayn, his ribs heavily taped, insisted on competing against Bron Breakker as scheduled. The decision proved costly. After Breakker hit Zayn with a devastating spear on the outside of the ring, commentator Michael Cole pleaded with the referee to stop the match. Zayn continued, but was quickly hit with a second spear inside the ring, leading to a decisive victory for Breakker.

The segment was a clear demonstration of the dominance of Seth Rollins’ new faction, with Paul Heyman orchestrating the attacks. Following the initial ambush on Zayn, a vocal portion of the live crowd in Providence began chanting “We Want Kross,” showing a groundswell of support for the newly aggressive superstar.

In a backstage segment later in the broadcast, Paul “The Oracle” Heyman announced that due to the combined effects of the attack from Kross and the spears from Breakker, Sami Zayn was not medically cleared and would be out of action “indefinitely.” There is no official word on how long Zayn is expected to be away from WWE programming.
