Top WWE Star Is On The Brock Lesnar Schedule

Fans on social media have been asking about the status of Roman Reigns since he was taken off WWE television following an attack by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker last month. While his absence has been felt, it aligns with his current role in the company, where a significantly lighter schedule has positioned him as a special, Brock Lesnar-level attraction.

Reigns’ last appearance was on the April 21st episode of WWE Raw. During a segment where he confronted Paul Heyman, he was ambushed and brutally attacked by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, who delivered a Spear and a Stomp, respectively. This attack served as the storyline reason for his latest hiatus from WWE programming.

At 40 years old, Reigns has greatly reduced his in-ring activity over the last couple of years. This trend has continued in 2025, a year in which he has wrestled only three times so far, following just six matches in all of 2024. This schedule treats his appearances as rare, must-see occasions rather than weekly occurrences.

While nothing has been officially confirmed by WWE, the prevailing expectation is that fans will likely see Reigns return during the build to SummerSlam. As one of WWE’s biggest “tentpole” events of the year, often positioned as the second or third most important show behind WrestleMania, SummerSlam is an event for which top attractions like Reigns are almost always booked.

Adding to his limited wrestling schedule is Reigns’ growing career in Hollywood. He has a supporting role in the upcoming Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson action-comedy, “The Pickup,” set to premiere on Prime Video on August 6th. He has also been in talks for a role in the live-action “Street Fighter” movie, indicating a clear focus on expanding his presence outside of the ring.
