Daniel Bryan isn’t the only star that wants to wrestle The Rock as Drew McIntyre has upped the stakes.
The WWE Champion did an interview with Glasgow Times where he laid out a challenge to “The Great One” for a match at WrestleMania. He took things up a notch when he brought up how he wants the match at WrestleMania to be held from a special venue.
The Rock has spoken highly of McIntyre in the past as he named McIntyre in an interview with TMZ as the next breakout star. McIntyre also brought up The Rock backing Dolph Ziggler up during his feud with him last month, which hurt the feelings of the WWE Champion.
“I thought, ‘What would Rock do in this situation?’ If this was 1998/99, what would he say? I thought, screw it. I’m the champion, I don’t back down to anyone, even The Rock. My phone exploded. I’d love to face The Rock anywhere, but if there was one place on earth it would be a WrestleMania at Ibrox. That would be great for personal reasons.
“It would probably have to be Hampden, we’d need somewhere massive. If he chose to come back for a match, as the biggest Box Office attraction in the world, wow. Come on, Rock, give me that match.”
The future WWE Hall of Famer has stated in the past that he is retired from the pro wrestling business, so the contest isn’t likely but you can never say never in pro wrestling.
McIntyre also talked about winning the WWE Title at WrestleMania 36, doing so with no fans in attendance, and more. Check out the full interview here.
