Former WWE Champion AJ Styles is expected to make his return to in-ring action soon.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Styles has not been cleared yet but WWE brought him back to television this week “because they expect him to be cleared very soon.” It was added that he is at this point expected to be cleared in time to wrestle for the two events in Japan.
As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles, CA at the Staples Center on the USA Network, Styles took part in a backstage segment with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
Last month, it was reported that the internal injury report on Styles was a back injury, which is the storyline reason that WWE did on television to write him off. It was added that Styles was apparently also dealing with an AC joint (shoulder) injury.
WWE’s return to Japan on June 28th and June 29th at Ryogoku Kokugikan will see Styles working six-man tag team matches.
