It appears that Rhea Ripley will be off of television for a while.
On Tuesday, PWinsider.com reported that the former NXT Women’s Champion had to return to Australia this week because her visa was expiring.
It’s been reported that WWE will tape new episodes of NXT television this week. With that said, it’s unlikely that Ripley will be able to make it back to the United States in time for the TV tapings. Thus, she could be absent from the weekly NXT show on the USA Network.
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on whether the issues with her via had anything to do with the outcome of her latest match under the WWE banner.
Ripley dropped the NXT Women’s Title to Charlotte Flair at Night Two of WrestleMania 36. It’s also possible Ripley could be out of the United States for a while due to the coronavirus pandemic.
WWE is slated to determine a new #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Title on Wednesday’s episode of NXT. Io Shirai, Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, Dakota Kai, Chelsea Green, and Candice LeRae will battle in a six-woman Ladder Match on the show.
