As we previously noted after Saturday’s Day 1 pay-per-view, it’s clear that WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will be feuding with Bobby Lashley.
PWInsider is reporting that Lesnar was officially moved to the Raw roster internally but the plan is to still present him as a “free agent.” The “free agent” part of the storyline is important because Lesnar has been saying that his advocate Paul Heyman was able to work that into his contract and fans are supposed to be left wondering if a swerve is coming where Heyman joins Lesnar or if his falling out with Reigns was all part of a master plan.
The internal move for Lesnar means that he will be seen on Raw going forward until the time is right for him to move back to his feud with Roman Reigns. PWInsider also noted that Lesnar flew home yesterday, so that means that he will not be at Raw tonight. (UPDATE: Lesnar did not fly home so you can expect him on Raw tonight).
Lesnar vs. Lashley is the next big WWE Title match but the plans for Lesnar vs. Reigns are still in place for WrestleMania. Bryan Alvarez recently noted on the Bryan and Vinny Show that people in the company believe that the plan is now for a champion vs. champion match at Mania, which would mean that Lesnar will retain his title against Lashley.
For those of you that have asked, there is no word on what is next for Reigns at the Royal Rumble.
