Top WWE star ready to return after a year absence

The Big Show hasn’t wrestled in almost a year since he took time off to get surgery for a hip injury last September. However, it looks like we could see him back on WWE TV soon.

“Hopefully within the next couple of weeks, I will be back in the ring,” he said in an interview with ESPN.

He said that he was going to try to get cleared on Sunday when he sees WWE doctors backstage before SummerSlam.

Show was written out of storylines after a steel cage match with Braun Strowman but he had been dealing with the hip issues for years. There were rumors about him returning earlier this year but his recovery was slowed down after experiencing some complications that included a post-surgical infection.

He also backed away from comments made last year about retiring soon. “All you can do is get yourself as prepared as you can and then when the opportunity is given, make the most of it. I’ve been around this business a long time. Trust me, if they give me the opportunity, I’m going to knock the freaking crap out of it.”

Big Show’s previous deal was set to expire in February but he has signed a multi-year deal to remain with the company.
