Randy Orton is considered to be one the most consistent in-ring performers in WWE. For years, he’s received praise from management on his ring work. He’s had his personal issues over the years but he’s cleaned his life up and he’s being rewarded for that.
It’s crazy to think that Orton has been on TV for over 15 years and he’s only 37 years old. So, it’s not unreasonable for him to want a schedule similar to what Shawn Michaels had during his last few years in WWE.
As reported last week in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Orton will be taking time off soon. he is not advertised for any shows between 2/6 and 4/9. I would expect him to appear on television during the weeks leading up to WrestleMania but if you are buying a ticket for a live event then you shouldn’t expect to see him until April.
Orton is said to be very happy with his life and these days he spends as much time with his wife and kids as possible. Orton has said that if his body holds up and he can keep this schedule then he’ll probably keep wrestling for another 10 years.
It’s great to see that he’s in a good place in his life and I think fans are fine with him taking time off to spend time with his family and recharge his batteries.
