Trademark filing seemingly confirms new WWE talent signing

WWE filed a new trademark with The United States Patent and Trademark Office under the entertainment services classification on January 28th.

The trademark filing was for the name Dante Rios, best known as Daniel Garcia, who has worked on the independent wrestling scene up to this point. He most recently appeared on an episode of NXT where he lost to Tyler Rust.

Here is the description for the filing:

“International Class 041: Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal.”

Rios also made two appearances on AEW Dark last year where he worked alongside Kevin Blackwood. WWE has yet to officially announce that they’ve signed him to a contract, but due to the trademark filing for his new name, it appears that he has signed.

Rios did work a match under his real name on a 205 Live episode back in 2018.
