The official trailer and premiere date for the second season of the hit HBO Max series “Peacemaker,” starring WWE superstar John Cena, have been announced. The eight-episode new season is scheduled to debut on Thursday, August 21st.

HBO Max unveiled the new trailer during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con that featured series creator James Gunn and star John Cena, among other cast members. The second season of the DC Studios series will premiere on August 21 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO Max.
Peacemaker Discovers An Alternate World
The new season will see the title character explore a new reality. The official logline states: “In season two, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.” The returning cast, including John Cena, Danielle Brooks, and Jennifer Holland, will be joined by new cast members such as Frank Grillo and Tim Meadows. James Gunn wrote all eight episodes and directed three.
The announcement of his hit show’s return comes as John Cena is in the middle of his farewell tour in WWE. The 17-time world champion is preparing for one of his final marquee matches this coming weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, where he will defend the WWE Title against in a Street Fight.
