As previously noted, WWE will have to rewrite this week’s SmackDown on the heels of the multiple positive COVID-19 tests.
Several wrestlers will not be able to appear on the show so WWE will have time to fill.
It was just announced that there will be a special “Tribute To The Undertaker” on SmackDown. I was told that this was not in the original plans for the show and this was a late addition because of the positive tests affecting the availability of certain performers.
As part of the tribute, WWE will air the Boneyard Match between Taker and AJ Styles from WrestleMania. This will be the first time that the entire match will air in full on regular television.
As of this writing, there is nothing else announced for SmackDown. WWE’s original plans were to tape last week but COVID-19 tests arriving later than expected forced WWE to change plans and the show was scheduled to be taped tomorrow afternoon. It is unclear right now which wrestlers will be available for the show.
