In a groundbreaking main event at WWE NXT Battleground in Tampa, Florida, on May 25, 2025, Trick Williams defeated Joe Hendry to capture the TNA World Championship.
This marked the first time the TNA World Title had ever been defended, and subsequently changed hands, on a WWE premium live event, underscoring the unique crossover between the promotions.
Williams delivered a Rock Bottom to Hendry on the announce table, followed by a near fall from his signature Trick Shot inside the ring. Moments later, Williams hit Hendry with a Trick Shot to secure the historic pinfall and become the new TNA World Champion.
