Bronson Reed has opened up about the ankle fracture he suffered at the 2024 Survivor Series: WarGames event and the reassuring words he received from Triple H in the aftermath of the injury. Reed’s injury was a significant halt to his momentum at the time, but he has since returned to a top role on Monday Night Raw.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Reed recalled the moments immediately following his dive from the top of the WarGames cage onto a table. “I stood up and I walked backstage. The doctors didn’t think I had anything broken because I was able to walk,” Reed said. “But then [WWE chief content officer Paul Levesque] came and sat with me backstage, and he was trying to reassure me… I went to stand up and I couldn’t stand up.” The inability to put weight on his ankle was the first sign of the severity of the injury.
In a later phone call, Triple H offered Reed words of encouragement and a promise for his return. The reassurance was a significant morale boost for the “Auszilla” during a difficult and uncertain time in his career.
“He called me himself, and he said, ‘Just worry about rehabbing and getting yourself right again…when you come back here, you’re gonna be in the right spot,” Reed recalled. The promise of a meaningful role upon his return gave him the focus he needed to endure the grueling rehabilitation process.
Reed returned to in-ring competition in the summer of 2025 and was immediately placed in a top storyline. He returned at the Saturday Night’s Main Event special in May, aligning himself with Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker as a founding member of “The Vision” faction.
