Triple H addresses possible WWE PPV in the UK

Upon WWE’s travels to the United Kingdom, the company is always bombarded with questions about possibly hosting a pay-per-view event in the country. Speaking to Express Sport recently, WWE COO Triple H was asked about this possibility yet again. The mention of SummerSlam 1992’s success prompted an interesting response from “The Game.”

It seems that the widely-perceived notion that the PPV from Wembley Stadium was a big a success, from a business standpoint, isn’t all that true:

“I always hear about Wembley, I always hear it was such a massive success. It was not. I will just say that from a business standpoint, it was not. That’s why we didn’t come back and that’s why we’re still trying to figure it out.”

With the success of recent shows such as the Super Show-Down in Australia, however, “The Game” said that the UK getting their opportunity at a stadium show could be drawing near:

“As far as the ability to have larger Pay-Per-Views and larger events, yeah. I think you see that happening now. I just came back from Australia, 70,000 people in the stadium. I think those things become clearer and clearer as we’re experimenting with other things… So when the time is right, absolutely.”
