Triple H clarifies Shawn Michaels’ role at the WWE Performance Center, hypes NXT Takeover and more

Triple H held a conference call for NXT Takeover: Toronto on Friday and he clarified Shawn Michaels’ role at the WWE Performance Center after Kevin Nash claimed on a podcast that Michaels was now the Head of the PC. Triple H said that Michaels’ role is yet to be determined and that Matt Bloom has been doing a great job as the head of the PC. He also said that if there’s something he could pick out for Shawn to do there then it would be to help put the polish on the talent that is one step away from being a star.

Triple H also noted that Mickie James was his first pick as Asuka’s opponent for Takeover in Toronto. That contradicts what was said internally at WWE because they did talk to Trish Stratus but a change had to be made because she learned that she was pregnant. Either way, Mickie James is an excellent choice.

He also noted that they would be open to doing more live TV but there are no plans for that right now but everything depends on what the fans want. He touched on the New Zealand shows being canceled but he did not go into too much detail and he hyped Takeover: Toronto.

He believes that the tag team title match between Ciampa/Gargano and The Revival will be a match of the year contender and that Bobby Roode vs. Tye Dillinger will be great. They will be in Bobby Roode’s hometown so the atmosphere should be amazing.

He also talked about the NXT All Access for fans on 11/14 and the new “205 Live” show on the network.

It was a relatively short conference call this time because he was late but he did apologize for that.

NXT Takeover: Toronto takes place a week from Saturday (11/19) and will air live on the WWE Network.
