As we’ve noted before, Triple H was recently a part of a media conference call to promote this weekend’s WWE SummerSlam and NXT TakeOver events. “The Game” answered a variety of questions from professional wrestling media outlets.
Triple H was asked about WWE’s new broadcasting deal with FOX which goes into effect in 2019. The $1 billion dollar deal will move SmackDown Live to FOX on Friday nights. With the UFC getting set to move from FOX Sports to ESPN, that leaves FOX Sports without some key content. Triple H was asked about the possibility of NXT being moved over from broadcasting on the WWE Network to a FOX affiliate such as FS1. Here’s what he had to say:
“I don’t know,” Triple H said. “Right now we’re concentrating on the deals we have and where we’ll be next year when SmackDown moves to Fox. I think time will tell and time will see right now NXT has a very good home on the [WWE] Network. People seem to enjoy it, but who knows? I would never want to say never, especially around here.”
