Triple H gives credit to Vince McMahon for Charlotte vs. Rhea Ripley feud

WWE confirmed Charlotte Flair vs. WWE NXT Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley for WrestleMania 36 on Sunday night.

This was after Ripley retained the title over Bianca Belair at the NXT TakeOver: Portland event. Post-match, Flair attacked Ripley and accepted her challenge.

While speaking with media outlets after the show during a conference call, Triple H noted how the idea of this feud came from WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon. In fact, he was shocked the first time he heard the idea.

“Actually, USA had no involvement in it, really at all,” Triple H answered. “I believe that this was, to be honest, it was shocking to me when it was first mentioned to me. I believe that this was really just a decision from Vince’s part on understanding where the other stories are going for the women.”

With less than two months to go until the biggest event of the year for WWE, WrestleMania, fans should expect to see Ripley appear on Raw and Flair on NXT TV going forward to hype this feud.
