Triple H recently spoke with ESPN.com about NXT and more. During the interview, he was asked about the future of NXT. He stated that while it’s a developmental brand, it’s also a third brand as it has 200 events per year. He noted that NXT TV is one of the most popular things on the Network. “I think over the years you’re gonna begin to see Raw is its own brand, SmackDown is its own brand, NXT — you’re gonna see people move around. It’s no longer gonna be just, this guy got called up, it’s gonna be maybe ‘this guy got moved over, she got moved here,’ and see that transference of talent.”
When asked about Shinsuke Nakamura in NXT, he said that people are saying that Nakamura should be on RAW and not on NXT. He said that the fans get to see him each week and do his thing. He added that opportunities for Nakamura are there.
Finally, Triple H was asked about Finn Balor. He said that unless you have been in WWE, then you don’t understand the difference in what the television product is at a WrestleMania level, to a Raw level, to an NXT level. We’re trying to create that product. “Balor is a guy that came in from an indie group — so successful, a great in-ring performer, but had never really talked much.”
