Triple H Was “Not A Fan” Of WWE Star’s Old Theme Song

WWE Superstar Bronson Reed has revealed the reason why he no longer uses his popular independent wrestling theme song, “Guillotine” by Death Grips, and the answer is simple: Triple H was not a fan. In a new interview with AFL Today, the powerhouse from The Vision expressed the importance of entrance music in setting the tone for a character and admitted that while he loves his current WWE theme, he does miss his old music. He then shared the story of when he played the experimental track for the WWE Chief Content Officer.

“Those things are important. When you come out for your entrance, it sets the tone, so I always wanted something that was distinctive. I have that with WWE. It’s obviously a bigger scale and budget. They like to do their own in-house music, but I do miss my old music sometimes,” Reed said.

He then explained why the change was necessary. “Well, the thing is, this is going to expose my boss, but he’s a good dude. I once showed Guillotine to Triple H and he was not a fan.” Reed believes the less-than-ideal listening environment may have been a factor. “I think maybe he didn’t listen to it in the right atmosphere. You know, listening to something on your phone and then hearing some crazy man start rambling. I’m like, if you heard it in an arena with the bass and the treble and stuff, then you would understand it works. But yeah, he was not a fan of Guillotine.”

The theme song “Guillotine” was a signature part of Reed’s presentation on the independent scene and during his time in NXT, where it became a fan favorite. The chaotic and aggressive nature of the song perfectly matched his in-ring style, but as he explained, WWE’s preference for in-house music, combined with Triple H’s personal taste, led to the change.

Since his return to the main roster, Reed has been a dominant force as a member of The Vision, a faction that also includes World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker are coming off a victory at the inaugural Wrestlepalooza premium live event, where they defeated The Usos.

The duo is scheduled to travel to Japan for a series of WWE Supershow events, where they will take on the team of Shinsuke Nakamura and Jey Uso on one night, and then be a part of a six-man tag team match on the second night, teaming with Seth Rollins to take on Nakamura, Jey Uso, and CM Punk.
