Triple H Talks Two-Night WWE SummerSlam: “It’s Going To Disney For Pro Wrestling”

As WWE prepares for its first-ever two-night SummerSlam this weekend, Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has spoken about the decision to expand the event, comparing it to the massive success of the two-night WrestleMania format.

A ‘Destination Weekend’ For Fans

Speaking on WFAN in New York City, Triple H explained that the success of WrestleMania since it moved to two nights in 2020 justifies making the same change for SummerSlam. “Look, it has been successful for us on the WrestleMania side for sure — the two-night WrestleManias are destination weekends. People plan their year, their vacation around it,” he said.

‘Going To Disney For Pro Wrestling’

Levesque also described the entire SummerSlam week experience, which includes SmackDown, live events, and the upcoming Raw, as a can’t-miss attraction for fans, comparing it to a trip to a major theme park. “If you’re a fan, there’s nothing like it. It’s going to Disney for pro wrestling,” he stated.

WWE has certainly stacked the card for its first two-night SummerSlam to create that “destination” feel. The event will feature two world championship main events, with World Champion GUNTHER defending against CM Punk and Cody Rhodes challenging John Cena for the WWE Title, as well as a massive six-team TLC match and the in-ring debut of musical artist Jelly Roll.
