Triple H’s WrestleMania 42 Promo Video Post Overtaken By #WeWantKairi Responses

Triple H’s attempt to promote WWE’s WrestleMania 42 behind-the-scenes content on social media was quickly overtaken by fan frustration over Kairi Sane’s release.

Triple H posted a snippet from WWE’s official WrestleMania 42 preparation video on X, featuring his interaction with CM Punk, alongside the caption: “It’s a team effort. Just a small glimpse into what makes WrestleMania happen. Watch now on WWE YouTube.”

The majority of responses to the post were not about the video itself. Fans immediately flooded the replies with the hashtag WeWantKairi, directing attention toward the release of Sane, who was let go as part of WWE’s post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts last Friday alongside 24 other performers.

Sane’s release had already generated frustration both internally and publicly. She was in the middle of an active storyline, having aligned with Asuka against IYO SKY in a feud that had been building since the second half of 2025. Fightful Select reported there was a ton of shock within WWE over the decision given her involvement in the ongoing program. Initial plans for WrestleMania 42 had included a triple threat match between Asuka, Sane, and SKY, with the Kabuki Warriors also having been considered as a potential replacement for the Bella Twins in the fatal four-way tag match before Paige’s return made that unnecessary.

Sane addressed her exit on social media, clarifying that her departure was unrelated to relocating to Japan and that she had never walked away from what she loves doing.

The fan campaign echoes previous successful social media movements in WWE’s recent history. In 2024, the WeWantCody hashtag flooded social media after The Rock returned and hinted at taking over Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania spot against Roman Reigns, prompting WWE to alter those plans. More recently, after R-Truth’s abrupt release was announced, fans chanted for his return on Raw and SmackDown and across social media, ultimately leading to his return at Money in the Bank a week later.
