Two ex-WWE stars headed to Impact Wrestling

Over the past few weeks, it’s been looking like former WWE stars Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson would be going to Impact Wrestling and that is indeed the case.

Gallows and Anderson are heading to Impact Wrestling in a deal that will allow them to also work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Pro Wrestling Sheet first reported that there were ongoing discussions between the two sides and it was later followed up on by SportsKeeda’s Gary Cassidy. Dave Meltzer confirmed on Tuesday that the tag team will be going to the promotion.

Of course, they were released back in April by WWE due to budget cuts and have been under non-compete deals since that time. It just so happens to be that those deals are up on July 18th, the same day as Impact’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.

While Meltzer couldn’t confirm when their debut will happen, he was able to confirm the other reports that they are expected to work for NJPW once they’re free to travel to Japan.

It was also noted that it’s unknown whether they have officially signed the deals and there’s no word yet on the length of those deals is also unknown.

Gallows, who worked for the promotion under the TNA banner from 2011-2013, will clearly be making a return to Impact while this will mark Anderson’s first stint in the promotion.

Regarding NJPW, they have a history with the promotion as well as they worked for the company for nearly four years before signing with WWE in 2016.
