Two more top WWE NXT stars expected to move to the main roster soon
The tag team division on Smackdown Live is getting crowded. In addition to The Usos and Smackdown Tag Team Champions The New Day, you can expect to see Primo and Epico Colon back soon and it’s looking like the Breezango mystery will be solved soon (note: click here if you want to know who the mystery attackers might be).
There’s another tag team expected to move up to the main roster soon. The Authors Of Pain were expected to move up as part of Smackdown, according to a recent Wrestling Observer Radio show. If Vince McMahon has not changed his mind then I would expect them to move up after NXT Takeover: Houston. At the recent NXT tapings (click here for complete results from the tapings), they declared their intentions to challenge for the NXT Tag Team Titles again.
It’s not clear if they will challenge for them at the next tapings or if that will happen at NXT Takeover: Houston, which happens to be on the night before Survivor Series. Akam and Rezar were very green when they started in NXT last year but they’ve been steadily improving and have won over a large segment of the fanbase. Hopefully, they are kept strong on the main roster and I hope that Paul Ellering moves up with them.
Aside from their size (which is something Vince McMahon looks for) and look, they also have Road Dogg in charge of writing for Smackdown and the backing of Triple H so they should, in theory, be given the opportunity to get over on the main roster.
