UPDATE: WWE sources confirm that Asuka and Cesaro did work at the WrestleMania tapings so if they are off the road then it would be for the next TV tapings.
ORIGINAL: It has been a rough week for WWE as several wrestlers have pulled out of this week’s WrestleMania tapings.
We’ve reported on several names earlier today and not, according to a report from Wrestling Inc., it looks like Asuka and Cesaro are off WWE shows for now.
Although it was not officially announced, the plan was for Asuka and Kairi Sane to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles on the show against Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross. At one point, the plan was for a three-way match with Natalya and Beth Phoenix involved but those plans were dropped sometime within the last couple of weeks.
At this point, there is no word on if an illness is keeping Cesaro and Asuka off the show or if they simply chose not to travel out to the event out of precaution. Please keep in mind that no one has said that anyone in the company has tested positive for coronavirus. WWE has been taking every step to minimize the risk of everyone getting exposed to the virus so anyone showing any signs of any illness have been told to stay home.
Asuka and Cesaro join a long list of names that have pulled out of WWE taping this week.
