A new report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that NXT North American Champion Ethan Page has a major supporter in NXT’s broadcast partner, The CW network. According to the report, the network “loves” Page and wants to feature him heavily.
The CW ‘Loves’ Ethan Page
In the latest edition of the newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that The CW is very high on Ethan Page, largely due to his excellent work in media appearances. The report notes that Page has done a “ton of media” and recently served as the WWE representative at a NASCAR race that aired on the network. Meltzer added that the network wants to use him “in as many promotions as possible” to represent the brand.
On The Main Roster Radar
The report also provided an update on Page’s future in WWE, stating that both he and his recent rival, Ricky Saints, are “still on the main roster radar as far as the next call-ups.” This indicates that a move to Raw or SmackDown could be in the future for the NXT champion.
Page’s rising stock comes after a successful and high-profile defense of his NXT North American Championship. On this past Tuesday’s episode of NXT, Page defeated TNA’s on-screen Director of Authority, Santino Marella, in a special crossover match. With that challenge behind him, Page is now expected to learn who his next challenger will be in the coming weeks.
