Two WWE Stars May Be Getting Repackaged With a New Gimmick

Twitter insider #BWE hinted earlier that we will see some surprises and a repackaging soon and, per Fightful Select, it looks like a tag team will be getting a new gimmick.

Fightful Select reports that the Maximum Male Models, Mace and Mansoor, may be getting repackaged. The team debuted on the SmackDown brand last year with Max Dupri but that alliance was short-lived when Dupri split from the group. He was said to be unhappy with his character direction and when Triple H took over full-time creative duties, he was transitioned back to his LA Knight gimmick that he used while in NXT. In recent months, Maxxine Dupri has been working with Otis and Chad Gable.

Fightful Select reports that initially, Vince McMahon was high on the Maximum Male Models gimmick but he didn’t want them to be “flamboyant” but that course was corrected under Triple H. They have appeared in backstage skits in recent months but haven’t wrestled much on TV and the flamboyant part of their act has been scaled back since Vince McMahon’s return to the company.

The group has been losing matches at the live events for months, dating back to last year. In fact, they haven’t won a single non-televised match since their debut, which oftentimes has been seen a sign that the company has given up on the gimmick.
