UPDATE: She has NOT been released. The tweet below was meant to be taken literally, as in she actually had this dream. She is still with the company.
ORIGINAL: Tamyra Mensah Stock (Tyra Mae Steele in WWE), 33, announced she has been released by WWE after competing in an Olympic wrestling event on a weekend off from the company. She won gold and a $350,000 prize purse — and says she was let go the following Monday.
“On a weekend off working for WWE, I went back to Olympic wrestling, won gold at Worlds, prize purse was $350,000,” Steele wrote. “Tried to go back to WWE that Monday. They moved me up to Raw, just to tell me they had to let me go because I went behind their back. So was this a DREAM or NIGHTMARE?”
Based on Steele’s account, she was slated for a move to the Raw brand before the release. WWE appears to have viewed her competing outside the company without permission as a breach of her deal.

From Olympic Gold to WWE
Steele, whose real name is Tamyra Mensah-Stock, won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. She signed with WWE in 2023 and won the first season of the WWE LFG reality series, earning an NXT contract after being mentored by The Undertaker.
She had been a regular on the WWE EVOLVE series on Tubi and had also appeared on WWE NXT and WWE NXT Level Up. Her last appearance for the company was last month.
As of publication, Steele is still listed on the NXT roster on the official WWE website.
