UFC 200: Brock Lesnar defeats Mark Hunt by unanimous decision

Perhaps one of the most anticipated fights in UFC history, at least for WWE fans, took place in Las Vegas at UFC 200.Prior to the fight, they aired a commercial hyping Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton at SummerSlam. That commercial is part of the agreement between UFC and WWE. Immediately after that, they aired a commercial for WWE 2K16. I believe that was paid for by 2K Sports.

Lesnar got 3 takedowns in the first round and there was very little offense from Hunt. Brock nailed Hunt with several shots when he had him on the ground. Hunt did a good job at stuffing Lesnar’s takedowns in the second round and it was a tough round to call because there was not much action going on with both guys circling each other. Hunt hit Lesnar with a flurry of punches to open the 3rd round but Lesnar successfully took down Hunt and hit him with punches of his own against the cage. Lesnar busted Hunt open as he transitioned into full mount and continued the ground and pound.

The judges scored the fight 29-7 for Lesnar by unanimous decision. He was very close to winning it by TKO but Hunt was still intelligently defending himself.

After the fight, Lesnar gave a shout out to the men in uniform that protect this country “from one white boy to all nationalities. We got to stand together people.”

We will have the UFC 200 post-fight press conference up on the site soon.
