As if there wasn’t already enough pressure on WWE to pull out of Saudi Arabia, The Hollywood Reporter has a story up on UFC’s parent company Endeavor Content pulling out of a $400 million deal with Saudi Arabia.
This comes amid tremendous pressure on businesses to stop doing business with the Saudi’s after reports of the disappearance and possible murder of Saudi Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
THR notes that Endeavor wasn’t the only company doing business with the Saudi government and they specifically mentioned AMC, Imax, and WWE.
As of today, WWE is still moving forward with Crown Jewel on November 2nd where Shawn Michaels will return to the ring to team up with Triple H against The Undertaker and Kane.
Several WWE Superstars have privately expressed that they would rather not go to Saudi Arabia but none of them have said anything publicly and it’s unlikely that anyone will speak up to management out of fear of repercussions in regards to their push or spot on the roster.
We’ll see if things change this week as the media pressure intensifies.
