Fans who live in the UK are likely not going to be pleased with the latest decision made by WWE regarding its broadcast schedule of NXT TV.
BT Sport took over WWE’s television rights in the UK and Ireland back in January due to WWE’s partnership with Sky Sports ending. This deal included airings of Raw, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK, and WWE pay-per-view events.
UK fans who have the WWE Network were able to watch NXT through the on-demand section by Friday after it had aired. Unfortunately, that has changed.
PWinsider.com reported on Saturday that effective immediately, fans will have to wait a full week after the broadcast airs in the United States before they can watch NXT.
As of this writing, no official reason was given. There’s speculation that this change was made because of WWE’s deal with BT Sports, who has the exclusive rights to live airings of the show in that part of the world.
It’s interesting that this change took four months to be made but it’s in place now. Also, WWE has yet to make fans aware of this change through social media or even e-mail.
Instead, WWE has received messages through its @AskWWENetwork Twitter account from fans as to why NXT isn’t available yet.
Hi! Thank you for reaching out. Please be advised that NXT will be available on WWE Network on demand 7 days after it’s original airing date in your location. Thank you! ^WA
