WWE has been on a spending spree as of late as the next WWE Performance Center Class is set to officially report to work on Tuesday, February 23. The company has signed around 25 newcomers such as Eli Drake, Taya Valkyrie, Anthony Henry, Christian Casanova, and Blake Christian.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that former Love Island contestant and World of Sport star Adam Maxted has been signed to WWE.
He’s slated to work the NXT UK brand, alongside other new signee Millie McKenzie.
Maxted was a featured name on the WOS program when World of Sport aired on ITV’s main broadcast channel. This was at a time when Love Island was a stable of sister channel ITV2. Although there was hope the crossover appeal of Maxted would help the brand gain traction, it only lasted one season.
In 2017, Maxted had a tryout with WWE. He has also worked for the likes of OTT Wrestling, IPW:UK, 5 Star and Preston City Wrestling. He’s shared the ring with wrestlers such as Noam Dar, Pete Dunne and Grado.
