Zilla Fatu, son of Edward Fatu, a.k.a. Umaga, is getting into the wrestling business.
He started his wrestling journey by training at WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion/school, which has a long alumni list including Athena, Kylie Rae, A.Q.A., Roxanne Perez, Bryan Keith, and Ninja Mack.
Zilla took a photo in front of the Reality of Wrestling logo. WWE star Shelton Benjamin sent his well wishes to Zilla as he starts this new journey.
On Monday Night Raw this week, The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa paid tribute to Umaga when used Umaga’s signature ‘Samoan Spike’ finisher and did the hip attack on Matt Riddle.
Umega came from the famous Anaoi Samoan wrestling family. When he originally joined WWE, he went by the name Jamal and was a member of the tag team 3-Minute Warning alongside his cousin Matt Anoai, who went by the name Rosey. In June 2003, he was fired from the company. Fatu made a return to the WWE in 2006 with the ring name Umaga. Before finally suffering his first loss in January 2007 at the hands of John Cena, Umega went the entire year unbeaten on the Raw brand.
He was a former Intercontinental Champion. As Mr. McMahon’s representative, he also took part in the “Battle of the Billionaires” WrestleMania match against Bobby Lashley and Donald Trump. He was let go by WWE in June 2009 and passed away that December.
