The Undertaker and Michelle McCool have revealed that their 13-year-old daughter, Kaia Faith Calaway, wants to follow in their footsteps and become a professional wrestler. The couple discussed their daughter’s aspirations during a recent episode of the Six Feet Under podcast, which featured current WWE Superstar Bayley as a special guest.
The Undertaker Attempts To Discourage Daughter’s Career Choice
The “Deadman” stated that Kaia has been interested in the wrestling business for years and that she frequently pushes back against his attempts to steer her away from it. Despite his legendary status in the industry, The Undertaker admitted that he has tried to persuade her to consider other career paths, but his efforts have been unsuccessful so far.
“My daughter is obsessed with wrestling and wants to get in the business, and she gets on me all the time about trying to squash her dreams,” The Undertaker said. He added, “I’ve been recently browbeaten trying to talk Kaia out of getting into wanting to wrestle.”
Michelle McCool Says Daughter Has Been Hooked Since Kindergarten
Michelle McCool, a former Divas Champion, shared that Kaia’s passion for wrestling is not a new development. According to McCool, their daughter has been analyzing matches and storylines since she was a young child, often asking detailed questions about the logic behind in-ring action.
“She’s been like that solid since age 4,” McCool said. “I swear she was in Kindergarten, she’d watch stuff, and she’d go, ‘Daddy, why did they do that? That doesn’t make sense,’ and I’m like, ‘Oh, shucks, she gets it too.” The Undertaker noted that Kaia is “already nitpicking” the product.
McCool Expected Daughter To Outgrow Wrestling Phase
The couple admitted they initially believed Kaia’s interest in wrestling was just a phase that would fade as she got older. However, her dedication has only intensified over time. “She’s wanted to do it forever. She’s obsessed with it. We thought she’d kind of grow out of it,” McCool stated.
The Undertaker has five children. His son Gunner is from his first marriage to Jodi Lynn. He has two daughters, Chasey and Gracie, from his marriage to Sara Frank. Kaia is his daughter with Michelle McCool, whom he married in 2010. The couple also has an adopted son, Kolt.
