John Cena defeated AJ Styles in a singles match at the 2025 WWE Crown Jewel event. Following the conclusion of the match, both competitors showed respect for one another. The Undertaker later posted a public comment about the match on his social media account.
A notable feature of the contest was the use of signature moves belonging to other WWE wrestlers. Throughout the match, both Cena and Styles performed maneuvers that are associated with a variety of other major performers from the last two decades.
The sequence that ended the match began when Styles came off the top rope. Cena countered the move, rolled through, and lifted Styles to perform a Tombstone Piledriver, which is The Undertaker’s finishing move. Cena then followed up with his own finishing move, the Attitude Adjustment, and pinned Styles for the victory.
After the match was over, Cena and Styles shook hands and hugged in the ring. They then stood together and raised each other’s hands before the crowd.
Several hours after the event, The Undertaker posted a message on X thanking John Cena and AJ Styles, calling their match, “A masterclass and beautiful tribute to wrestling.”
