The Undertaker Says Chelsea Green Has Been Underutilized

During the recent episode of the Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker praised WWE Superstar Chelsea Green. While speaking with WWE executive and producer Michael Hayes, The Undertaker stated that he believes Green is currently not being used to her full potential on television. “I’ll just say, I’ll put my two cents in. I think she’s underutilized,” he said. “I think she, without a doubt, with just a hair more mean streak… I think she could be a top, top player. She has that it factor. And I think there’s a lot of great things coming for that young lady. I’m a big fan of hers.”

As noted earlier, Hayes used the podcast appearance to clarify recent comments he made regarding Green, where he previously stated her role was to make stars like Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton look good. Hayes noted that if Green caught fire organically with the audience, WWE would push her similarly to Daniel Bryan or Kofi Kingston. He expressed concern that if the company forced a push right now, fans might reject it because it came directly from the promotion rather than from their organic support. Hayes added that Green is amazingly talented and plays her current role perfectly and he said he agreed when Taker said she’s underutilized.

The conversation also shifted to Roman Reigns. Hayes, who has produced many of Reigns’ matches over the years, praised the former Undisputed WWE Champion for having a gritty mentality that fits in with past eras. “He’s one of the ones that has the old school in him, he could have gone through a riot,” Hayes said. Hayes added that Reigns always wanted to portray the “Tribal Chief” persona but wasn’t allowed to do so earlier in his career and didn’t know how to speak up for himself at the time.

Hayes also discussed Bobby Roode’s recent transition into a backstage producer role. Hayes revealed that Triple H approached him a few years ago and asked Hayes to mentor Roode. According to Hayes, Triple H told him, “You’re our Pat Patterson… I need you to make him [Roode] Michael.” Hayes praised Roode for stepping into a leadership role and consistently giving his opinion behind the scenes.
