Andrade El Idolo reportedly walked out of a pro wrestling show in Mexico on Friday, November 7. The incident occurred at The Crash’s 14th-anniversary show in Tijuana. The former WWE United States Champion was announced for the event and was present at the meet-and-greet to sign autographs for fans, but El Idolo did not appear on the show and left the venue.
Reason For Walkout
Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Andrade walked out because he was “unhappy,” although the specific reason for his unhappiness is currently unknown.
“Andrade was on the show, probably the main attraction on the show. He was there signing autographs, and then he left. The only thing that we heard was that he was unhappy,” Meltzer said. “His non-compete is only [in the] United States so he can work in Tijuana [and] Mexico City.”
Current Contract Status
Andrade is currently under a one-year non-compete clause with WWE, but it is limited to the United States. He was reportedly fired “with cause” by WWE in September due to multiple wellness policy violations.
Andrade returned to AEW on the October 1 episode of Dynamite. However, he “disappeared” from television after WWE sent AEW a legal letter regarding his non-compete clause. It was noted that AEW announcers have since been directed not to mention Andrade.
