An upcoming match on the June 20th episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to make history. According to WWE Stats, the one-on-one matchup between WWE Champion John Cena and Ron Killings will become only the second in the company’s long history to have taken place on four specific flagship shows: Raw, SmackDown, a Premium Live Event, and Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The first and only other pairing to accomplish this rare feat was the classic 1980s rivalry between Hulk Hogan and King Kong Bundy. Their series of matches spanned across WWE’s biggest platforms of that era, cementing its place in history.
Now, a modern rivalry is set to join that exclusive club. The matchup of Cena vs. Killings will be the second to achieve the distinction.
This is set to become only the second 1-on-1 matchup in @WWE history to occur on…#WWERaw
a #WWE PPV/PLE
Saturday Night’s Main Event
AND #SmackDownCan you name the other pair to do it? https://t.co/adegz2xhos
