Original: WWE SmackDown on July 4th will be a taped show, as WWE does not currently have a SmackDown event listed on this date. WWE is holding SmackDown the week before on June 27th in Saudi Arabia before the night of Champions PLE on June 28th. WWE holds Raw on June 30th in Pittsburgh.
On a recent edition of SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Q&A, WrestleVotes was asked about this and noted that it appears the show will be pre-taped after Raw that week.
“Nothing schedule-wise that would prevent it. It does seem like it’s going to be a pre-taped show. No tickets on sale yet, no date. We’re five weeks out or so. I’d imagine because of the holiday, they’re going to give the guys the night off, and it will be taped on that Monday night.”
